TV This Week
SUNDAY
The hills are once again alive with the sound of music – courtesy of the storied Vienna Philharmonic — when living legend Julie Andrews, below, hosts “From Vienna: The New Year’s Celebration 2012” on a new “Great Performances.” (KOCE, 6 p.m.)
What’s cooking — or rather, who’s cooking? In the new series “Rachael vs. Guy Celebrity Cook-Off,” the redoubtable Ms. Ray and the fearsome Mr. Fieri lead the likes of comic Cheech Marin and rapper Coolio in culinary competition. (Food, 9 p.m.)
MONDAY
“Never on a Sunday” is the longstanding rule, which is why “The 123rd Tournament of Roses Parade” in Pasadena is taking place on a Monday. The venerable duo of Bob Eubanks and Stephanie Edwards returns to host the local coverage. (KTLA, 8 and 10 a.m.; 3 and 7:30 p.m.)
TUESDAY
¡Que sabroso! In the debut of the tasty new travelogue “Jamie’s American Road Trip,” celebrity chef Jamie Oliver explores the intersection of food, family and culture in East Los Angeles’ Mexican-American community. (BBC America, 7 and 10 p.m.)
WEDNESDAY
Them and us: Pamela Anderson is among the famous faces pretending to be their own look-alikes on a new “I Get That a Lot,” and more complete strangers pitch in to make others’ flash-mob dreams come true on a new “Mobbed.” (CBS, 8 p.m.; Fox, 9 p.m.)
THURSDAY
This call may not be monitored for quality assurance: The new docu-special “Customer (Dis)Service” details consumers’ growing disgruntlement over call-center rigmarole, inadequate on-line support and other such annoyances of the e-commerce era. Yes, I’ll hold… (CNBC, 6 and 9 p.m.)
FRIDAY
Squirm alert! Carrie Brownstein and Fred Armisen bring the satire on the season premiere of “Portlandia,” and David Cross supplies the scandalous on the return of “The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret.” (IFC, 10 and 10:30 p.m.)
SATURDAY
We saw “Sucker Punch” at the Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, and even that ginormous screen was barely big enough to contain the mind-melting visual feast that is “300” director Zack Snyder’s martial arts-fueled 2011 action-fantasy. Emily Browning, below, stars. (Cinemax, 10 p.m.)
