Bobby Brown plea deal: DUI case settled, except for the probation
For Bobby Brown, a plea deal entered Wednesday in Van Nuys means that his recent DUI case is, for the most part, one for the books.
Through his attorney, who appeared in L.A. Superior Court on his behalf, the singer pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, L.A. Now reported. He’d found himself in trouble after a midday arrest in the San Fernando Valley on March 26. In addition to three years’ informal probation, he was hit with a one-day jail sentence.
Brown, who police said failed a field sobriety test after he was pulled over midday March 26 for talking on his cellphone behind the wheel, also was told to participate in a 90-day alcohol education program and pay a $390 fine,
So when will fans see Brown reporting for that day behind bars? Alas, it’s too late, as the singer got credit for time served before he was bailed out, which was less than four hours after his noon-hour arrest.
One person who has seen the singer this week is Bobbi Kristina Brown, his 18-year-old daughter with the late Whitney Houston. According to US Weekly, Bobbi Kristina “was on her phone and texting a crazy amount†during lunch with Dad and a few other people Tuesday in New York.
“She didn’t seem too thrilled to be there, in all honesty,†an onlooker said.
