Henry Rollins This Drop in the Bucket benefit concert is called “Life — just add water.†It’s hosted by Henry Rollins, who rounded up an all-star cast of musicians for the evening including: Corey Taylor of Slipknot; Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian; Slayer drummer Dave Lombardo; Jane’s Addiction guitarist Dave Navarro and members of Rob Zombie’s band. Proceeds go to Drop in the Bucket, a nonprofit organization that builds water wells and sanitation systems at rural schools in sub-Saharan Africa. Avalon, 1735 Vine St., L.A. 8 p.m. $25; https://www.dropinthebucket.org.

Cass McCombs The reclusive artist, whose austere fifth album, “Wit’s End,†came out in April, is not talking to the media. In the past, he’s interacted with the media very little, and with excruciating reluctance, at that. Instead, he is communicating through letters sent through the mail, as if there were no telephone or Internet. In a sealed-off suite of eight brooding songs of confessional folk, McCombs presents an introspective mind grappling with romantic failure, personality upheavals and a preoccupation with formality more akin to 19th century poetry than a musician touted by Stereogum. The Echo, 1822 Sunset Blvd., L.A. 8:30 p.m. $14. attheecho.com.
