A sculptural ramble with Richard Serra
“Band” by artist Richard Serra is a 183-ton ribbon of weatherproof steel that stands almost 13 feet tall and undulates through a “footprint” of about 70 feet by 37 feet. It has been installed at the Los Angeles Museum of Art’s new Broad Contemporary Art Museum. A wrap-around environment that is impossible to see in its entirety from a single vantage point, it is expected to remain in place for about a year.
