SHOWBIZ 7’S: Comedian Iris Bahr’s top backpacking companions
- Share via
Iris Bahr is a comedian, an actress and the author of a book called “Dork Whore: My Travels Through Asia as a 20-Year-Old Pseudo-Virgin.”
She’s done a couple of well-received one-woman shows, but we know her from her work on “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” where her portrayal of Rachel Heineman, the young orthodox woman with a boob job, was comedic genius.
Bahr just got a new four-minute weekly column on KCRW-FM called “Social Studies,” in which she will comment on popular culture through characters that she makes up, including Svetlana, Russian prostitute to the stars and political bigwigs.
To help her celebrate, we asked Bahr to write a top seven list about whatever she wanted.
In a smooth move that allowed her to promote her book and be funny at the same time, she chose “seven celebrities I would choose to share my van with on my next trip through Asia.”
