What’s up with Selena Gomez and Orlando Bloom? A photo, that’s what
Selena Gomez and Orlando Bloom are the latest to be caught up in the celebrity are-they-dating machine.
Nope, you can’t just be friends and famous in this town.
The Disney darlings — she of “Wizards of Waverly Place†and he of “Pirates of the Caribbean†— were photographed together Saturday at the Forum in Inglewood, where Chelsea Handler was performing “Uganda Be Kidding Me,†E! News reported. And, so it goes, the pair have automatically been romantically linked.
TMZ first reported the photo, which has Gomez, 21, sitting on a curb as the English actor, 37, smokes a cigarette. Gomez, in a sexy black dress, also wore a tacit “uh-uh†expression. The two looked somewhat startled by photographers, but the image doesn’t suggest anything particularly dishy. That is, unless framing seemingly unrelated celebrities in the same shot counts as dishy.
Gomez and Bloom are said to have been chatting before the flashbulbs went off, and Bloom reportedly left when the photographers showed up, the sites said.
In October, the actor and supermodel Miranda Kerr announced their “amicable separation†after three years of marriage. Bloom, who has shared custody of their 3-year-old son, Flynn, told the Mirror in March that he still hadn’t started dating.
Gomez has recently been linked again to on-and-off boyfriend Justin Bieber. The young stars were spotted getting cozy at the Coachella Valley Arts & Music Festival this month.
Incidentally, back in 2012, Bieber and Kerr, a former Victoria’s Secret Angel, got quite close during the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, where he performed on the runway. Which, you know, means nothing but seems to be a fun fact worth pointing out.
It’s not the first time Bloom and Gomez have been spotted together, though. The “Come & Get It†singer posted a photo of herself posing with Bloom and funnyman Seth Rogen at the We Day California conference last month.
Last week, Gomez mysteriously unfollowed everyone she’d been following on Instagram and posted a few cryptic photos, Us Weekly reported. She fired her parents as her managers and reportedly hired Katy Perry’s and Adam Lambert’s music manager, Bradford Cobb, instead. While she’d been hanging out with the youngest members of the extended Kardashian clan, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, whom she was spotted with at Coachella, the sisters were among those she unfollowed.
It’s been a whirlwind few months for the once-squeaky-clean starlet: In February, it was revealed that in January she had briefly entered rehab (though not for substance abuse), just one month after canceling February dates on the Australian leg of her “Stars Dance†tour, citing a need to “spend some time on†herself.
No word from the actors’ reps, but it sounds premature to sound the new-couple alert.
