Paris Jackson ‘in a good place,’ grandma Katherine Jackson says
Paris Jackson is much better than when we last checked in on her, grandma Katherine Jackson says.
“She is in a good place, getting the help she needs,†the Jackson family matriarch told Hello! magazine in an exclusive interview. “She is doing much better.â€
In early June, Paris was rushed to the hospital after what turned out to be an apparent suicide attempt — she reportedly cut her wrists with a kitchen knife and took a bunch of Motrin tablets.
Now, Hello! says, the 15-year-old middle child is in a residential facility specializing in grief management and depression in younger people.
“The treatment is going good, really good,†Katherine said. “She’s my baby. It’s hard for me, really hard. All I wanted these kids to be is happy. The night Michael died Paris was crying and said, ‘I want to go and see Daddy; I don’t want to be without him.’ â€
Paris’ access to social media and the Internet — which can be harsh and negative even if your father wasn’t a controversial mega-celebrity — is limited at the facility, Radar Online reported last week. The site had a snapshot of Paris at a graduation ceremony, her hair dyed red.
Michael Jackson, whose other kids are Prince, 16, and Blanket, 11, died from a propofol overdose in June 2009, a couple of months shy of his 51st birthday.
