Lindsay Lohan series preview: Cut the crap and bring on the drama
Lindsay Lohan is back — only this time, instead of in court or in the lenses of the paparazzi, she’ll be on TV once a week with Oprah Winfrey at the helm.
A preview of “Lindsay,†a docu-series that premieres Sunday on OWN, hit the Internet Tuesday night, starting with a rather world-weary quote from the 27-year-old.
“There’s nothing left in having a drink for me,†she says matter-of-factly. “What’s left in that feeling? Nothing. There’s no party I haven’t gone to, there’s no person I haven’t met, there’s no situation I haven’t been exposed to.â€
No kidding, Lindsay. We’ve written about a ton of it!
In the trailer, she reveals that she feels like a prisoner “all the time,†what with the media following her every move. “I don’t want them following me to an AA meeting,†she says, though it’s unclear whether she’s talking about the series’ cameras or the photographers constantly on her tail.
Mom and dad Dina and Michael Lohan show up separately in the preview, and Lindsay has words with papa, telling him he’s making her angry, and that he was bad for her for “a long time†in her life.
Various scenes hint at chaos during production, with Winfrey, upon being informed of the issues, saying: “This is exactly what everybody said was going to happen and I believed differently. She doesn’t understand, this is her life.â€
As part of a face-to-face pep talk, Oprah tells Lindsay bluntly, it’s time to cut the crap.
Lohan seems to know her own patterns. “It’s good good good good good,†she says at one point, “and then there’s that thing in my head where it’s like, ‘Oop, time to sabotage.’â€
The preview, as with all good previews, is edited for maximum drama, leaving a cliffhanger of sorts as Lohan is captured saying, “I know that this is my last shot at doing what I love to do.†Dare you not to set your DVR after you watch it (complete with some light little Lindsay-cussing).
Tweets from Winfrey and Lohan accompanied the preview’s release Tuesday night, with Oprah asking Lindsay, “Are you ready for the world to see what recovery looks like?â€
“Ready as I’ll ever be. Thank you so much. Here we go!†the actress replied.
Lohan addressed her own followers before sharing a link to the preview, saying, “you’ll have questions...many im sure. so ask me and use #LindsayOnOWN. couldn’t have done any of this without you xx - L.â€
She then retweeted a number of fans’ messages of excitement and encouragement about the upcoming reality series, thanking one person in particular: Nicole “Snooki†Polizzi, who posted a cheerleader-style blog post on Celebuzz.
“I think this docu-series with OWN is the start to her comeback, and for the world to really see what goes on in her life,†Polizzi wrote. “Lindz, I’m rooting for ya girl and I’m here for you if you ever need a friend. No seriously, call me.â€
