Kris Jenner has filed for divorce from Bruce Jenner
The split is real: Kris Jenner has filed for divorce from Olympian Bruce Jenner.
The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians†matriarch filed the papers in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, the Los Angeles Times has confirmed.
She cited the ever-popular “irreconcilable differences,†according to court documents.
The Jenners had been married for more than 22 years when they announced last October that they were separated and living apart -- a story line that played out on their popular E! reality series.
The Kardashian momager, 58, listed the date of separation as June 1, 2013, and is asking for joint physical and legal custody of the youngest of their two children together, Kylie Jenner, 17. (Kendall Jenner turned 18 last November.)
Radar Online and TMZ were first to report on the filings. The latter outlet reported that Kris Jenner wanted to keep her jewelry and assets from the date of separation, with their other property to be divvied up later. TMZ also said that the couple did not have a prenuptial agreement.
Kris Jenner filed without a lawyer and Bruce filed his response on Monday as well. The couple reportedly orchestrated their moves with their attorneys over the last few months.
“We are living separately and we are much happier this way,†the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians†stars told E! News in a statement last October. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.â€
Incidentally, soon after the separation news broke, the couple said they had no plans to divorce.
In April, the couple celebrated their 23rd wedding anniversary and Kris Jenner gave her husband some social media love.
“Happy Anniversary to one of the most amazing men I know!!!!†she wrote, sharing a throwback photo of the couple at the time. “I love you, Wow 23 years!!!!! #love #weareofficiallyvintageâ€
Kris Jenner, ex-wife of the late O.J. Simpson lawyer Robert Kardashian, serves as manager for her three eldest daughters, Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian West and Khloe Kardashian, and son Rob Kardashian. She and Bruce Jenner married in 1991, one month after she finalized her divorce from the famed attorney.
Bruce Jenner, 64, and first wife Chrystie Crownover (married 1972-1981) have a son, Burt, and daughter, Casey. After splitting with Crownover, he married Linda Thompson (1982-1984), with whom he had two sons, Brandon and Sam (Brody), who have appeared on “KUWTK.â€
Reps for both reality stars did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
