Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult reportedly split again
Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult are reportedly exes again and not the kind that you’ll find in their sci-fi movies.
The “X-Men: Days of Future Past†costars have reportedly called it quits for a second time, according to a Friday report from E! News.
Fanboys rejoice: JLaw’s apparently back on the market.
Sources told the site that the breakup “was very amicable†but the pair had a hard time making the relationship work because of their busy -- and “successful†-- schedules. (Self-promotion is never too far off in these kinds of things.)
“The Hunger Games†star and the British actor are said to have “spent a lot of time apart†due to their work, which strained the romance. However, the site also linked the 24-year-old actor to “Twilight†alum Kristen Stewart, whom he had dinner with in Tokyo this week and is costarring with in the sci-fi flick “Equals.†(Oh, the crossover scandal!)
A rep for Lawrence declined to comment, and a rep for Hoult did not immediately respond to The Times’ requests regarding the report.
The Oscar winner began dating Hoult when they were filming 2011’s “X-Men: First Class,†but they called it quits in January 2013. The actors remained friends and rekindled their romance last summer after reuniting to film “Days of Future Past.â€
Hoult sat with Lawrence at this year’s Oscars, where he supported her second high-profile tumble, and the duo promoted their latest “X-Men†flick together in May.
Incidentally, in the June issue of Marie Claire, the goofy starlet made it seem like they had figured out the secret to a long-distance relationship.
“When we’re busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other. Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn’t text back or call,†the actress said. “Life’s super busy. Obviously you know what they’re doing, and you trust them.â€
Lawrence prefaced those statements by saying it was important to maintain your individuality while part of a couple.
“We’re so young that it would almost be like, if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We’d be living together,†she told the magazine. “At least this way he’s in the same boat as I am: We can go out and have our own lives and know that we have each other.â€
Hoult, who starred in “Warm Bodies†and plays Beast (a.k.a. Hank McCoy) in the “X-Men†films, expressed similar views in an interview with V Magazine.
“It’s fun because in this business you are away from one another for long periods of time,†Hoult said. “So when you’re on set together it’s a brilliant thing, because you actually get to spend time together.â€
Still, never say never: The pair is set reprise their roles in 2016’s “X-Men: Apocalypse,†Bryan Singer’s third installment in the mutant franchise.
