Justin Timberlake is heading back to “Saturday Night Live” to perform and host for the fifth time! Mother lovers, rejoice! Rapper Ja Rule passed a big milestone in his legal struggles Thursday morning when he was released from a prison in upstate New York, where he’s been incarcerated since June 2011 on a gun charge. But there’s a twist: Along with the two-year sentence on the state gun charge, the 36-year-old has been working through a 28-month federal sentence for tax evasion. The sentences were running concurrently, which leaves him with time still to serve in the federal case, so he’s out, but he’s not yet free. Ja Rule, real name Jeffrey Atkins, went from the Mid-State Correctional Facility to the Oneida County Jail in central New York, where he was awaiting word from the Federal Bureau of Prisons about where he’ll serve time in the tax case.

Josh Brolin and Diane Lane are splitting up after more than eight years of marriage. The actors have called it quits, though it was unclear if they have officially filed for divorce. “Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage,” their reps first told Us Weekly. The news was also confirmed by the Associated Press. The “Gangster Squad” star and “Cinema Verite” actress married in 2004 and took a break a few months after they were wed when Brolin was arrested for spousal battery, TMZ reports. This is the second divorce for each of them. “It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over,” a source said.

Hey, Rupert Sanders, it looks as if the rest of your home country (Robert Pattinson excepted) disagrees with you about the sexiness of one Kristen Stewart - at least in a new pre-Oscar poll. Stewart was voted the least sexy Hollywood actress in a poll conducted on behalf of U.K. gadget website MenKind (presumably to lure folks into its selection of Tetris Mood Lights, Zombie Gnomes and Star Wars Jedi Dressing Gowns, items likely to land on a woman’s least-sexy list). “Our Oscars poll has been a fascinating insight into the minds of British men,” said a spokesperson for MenKind (via the Independent). “It’s shown that sexiness is far more than appearance. “They were turned off by volatile and moody actresses as well as ice queens. And they don’t want to see unhealthily skinny starlets on the big screen.”

Lindsay Lohan has been accused of ruining a designer gown she wore to the amFAR gala in New York on Wednesday. Is anyone really surprised? The starlet borrowed an elaborately beaded Theia gown, which carried a price tag of $1,750, to wear to the event that took place at Cipriani Wall Street, Us Weekly reported. Then “The Canyons” actress allegedly ripped it while partying after the amFAR gala. “She said that the dress had ripped [at a club after the fundraiser] - she couldn’t possibly wear it like that - so her stylist friend went to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the torn part of the dress,” a source told the mag, which obtained a photo of the shorn dress.

Lady Gaga has undergone hip surgery after a concert injury left her immobile last month and forced her to cancel the remainder of her “Born This Way Ball” tour. In a note posted late Wednesday on her Little Monsters blog, the singer, whose real name is Stefani Germanotta, thanked fans and said that they had given her “a lot of strength” during her surgery. “Everything happened so fast, but when it came time to face it I reflected on the many stories and experiences you’ve shared with me about your lives. Meeting you backstage, reading your letters, watching you communicate with fans from around the globe to form a community that supports one another -- You have completely blown my mind,” she wrote.

Taylor Swift was sued for canceling an appearance at a Canadian music festival last year after she reportedly had already received the payment for the appearance. She should have known it would be trouble, trouble, trouble? (OK, we got that out of our system.) The singer was set to headline Capital Hoedown’s 2012 music festival in Ottawa last August but festival organizer Denis Benoit canceled the event in July 2012 and ticket-holders began asking their credit card companies for refunds, according to the Ottawa Citizen.

In an interview with Dujour magazine, Kim Kardashian said she may not return for a 10th season of her family’s reality series “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” “I think there’s always an evolution of, you know, what you want to do in life,” she told Dujour. “It’s all about finding things that really excite you and motivate you and spark you all over again. I’m realizing that no matter what, if you go into something with all these expectations and plans, once you’re actually living it, it could be completely different.” However, Kardashian later clarified her comments in the mag in a blog post Wednesday afternoon, saying she’s signed on to the show through the 10th season, so fans can breathe a sigh of relief.

Country singer Mindy McCready was found dead by apparent suicide on her front porch Sunday, the victim of a single, self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, according to officials in Arkansas. She was 37. Her death comes a little over a month after David Wilson, her partner and the father of her younger son, died of a gunshot wound to the head on that same porch in Heber Springs, Ark. “Just got a call from Mindy McCready’s best friend that she shot and killed herself this evening,” NBC’s Andrea Canning wrote on Twitter on Sunday night. “My heart breaks for her two boys. RIP.” Canning had recently interviewed McCready for “Dateline.”
