Hollywood headlines: a crazy week in review
Taylor Swift has been in the love business lately. The Grammy-winning songstress, 22, reportedly bought a mansion to be closer to her boyfriend, Conor Kennedy. The $4.9-million, 4,400-square-foot oceanfront property in Cape Cod, Mass., is near the 6-acre Kennedy compound, where her 18-year-old beau resides. The rumored real estate purchase comes as Swift’s new single, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together,” is generating considerable speculation on whom the target of the tune might be after Swift said during a Web chat that the breakup song was inspired by a real-life relationship.

In a visit to “The Tonight Show” Thursday, fresh off filming a cameo on “90210,” gold medal-winning swimmer and not-exactly-reluctant heartthrob Ryan Lochte addressed the rumored possibility he could become the first celebrity “Bachelor.” He’d do the show if he was invited, he said, but only if his family approved. But he was wide open to “Dancing With the Stars.” “In college I took a dancing class,” he told Jay Leno. “I got [an] A, so I think I’d be pretty good at it.”

Rihanna still has a soft spot for Chris Brown ¿ or at least gets a little weepy over the hole he left in her life after he beat her in the face the night before the Grammys in February 2009. “I lost my best friend,” she told Oprah Winfrey tearfully in an interview to air Sunday night on OWN. “Everything I knew switched in a night, and I couldn’t control that.”

After being found guilty of hooliganism “driven by religious hatred” Friday morning, the three young members of Russian punk band Pussy Riot were each sentenced to two years in prison by a Moscow judge. The women ¿ Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, Maria Alekhina, and Yekaterina Samutsevich ¿ were charged with hooliganism after performing an unapproved, impromptu set at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow in February. The women had argued that they were taking a stand against the Russian Orthodox Church’s support for Vladimir Putin and were not seeking to offend religious believers. Their plight has galvanized a diverse list of pop stars, human rights advocates and political leaders from around the world who view the imprisonment of the band as a shocking example of Kremlin repression.
