Fresh from prison, Cameron Douglas is now a ripped and tatted version of Kirk Douglas

Cameron Douglas is out of prison, on social media and wow, is he a changed man. Michael Douglas' tatted-up son looks nothing like the doughy, bespectacled guy who was imprisoned on drug charges in 2009.

Dude looks good.

Family and the passage of time — he did almost seven years of it — are now commemorated on his body. The words â€œTake the long way home,†“Timeless,†“Tick†and “Tock†appear on his chest, abs and forearms, respectively, in a shot posted on his Instagram account. He’s also on Facebook, where recent posts include one of his mom, Diandra Douglas, during an outing in L.A.

Los Angeles and New York are both represented on Cameron’s pecs, and the faces of father Michael Douglas and grandfather Kirk Douglas rest on the lower part of his rib cage.

All this work took a while. Word that Douglas was getting inked up came out in 2013, with a prison â€œinsider†telling the New York Post at the time, “He recently had his initials inscribed on his neck and big stars on his shoulders, with each year of his incarceration in each star: ’10, ’11, ’12." The work was supposedly being done by his “best prison pal.â€

If those tattoos exist as described, they’re not immediately visible in pictures Douglas has up on Instagram, where his first post — an image of the phrase â€œBe the energy you want to attract†— went up on June 27.

Cameron Douglas, Michael Douglas' son, released from prison »

By the time he was released from federal prison to a halfway house a few weeks ago, the 37-year-old’s time had included long stretches in solitary confinement. His sentence was extended along the way due to additional drug offenses committed when he was under pretrial house arrest and, later, behind bars.

“Not going to quit until I get there,†he captioned one photo. His destination? Well, the half-sleeve on his right arm has yet to be finished, but perhaps it’s something intangible as well.

Cameron, who’s been photographed out and about in New York City with yoga instructor Vivian Thibes, appears to charting a course in the family business, or at least family-business adjacent, in front of a camera.

While he’s been previously labeled an actor, he has only a handful of credits to his name in forgettable movies. (Story lines included a drug bust gone bad, a rich kid whose life goes off the rails and a dysfunctional family that tries to reconcile. Michael and Kirk were top billed in that last one, 2003’s “It Runs in the Family.â€)

Now he’s tagging himself an “artist,†has a super-hot headshot and an uncanny resemblance to his elders. In one image from what appears to be a modeling shoot in New York City for a clothing company, he’s pure Kirk
