Pat Houston, Bobby Brown named co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown
Bobby Brown and Pat Houston have been appointed co-guardians of Bobbi Kristina Brown, attorneys for both parties announced Friday.
Bobbi Kristina -- nicknamed Krissi -- has been hospitalized since she was found unresponsive in a bathtub at her Atlanta-area home on Jan. 31. Though she’s no longer in a medically induced coma and has been breathing on her own, there’s reportedly been no significant improvement in her condition.
“Mr. Brown and Ms. Houston are jointly responsible for decisions related to Krissi’s care and medical needs,†read a joint statement from Christopher Brown and David Long-Daniels, lawyers representing Bobby Brown and Pat Houston, respectively.
Pat Houston is the late Whitney Houston’s sister-in-law and Bobbi Kristina’s aunt. She’s married to Gary Houston. Long-Daniels also represents Cissy Houston, Whitney’s mom.
The Brown and Houston families haven’t been on the best of terms over the years and in recent months, but according to the statement they are now “working harmoniously†when it comes to caring for Bobbi Kristina, who’s been in a rehab facility since being moved out of the hospital in March.
Judge Jeryl Debra Rosh also named Atlanta attorney Bedelia Hargrove as conservator for the late Whitney Houston’s only child, giving Hargrove responsibility for the 22-year-old’s assets, including likeness, rights and legal claims. Bobbi Kristina inherited her superstar mom’s entire, considerable estate after Whitney Houston died in February 2012.
