In ‘Maleficent’ Louboutins, Angelina Jolie talks Nigeria kidnapping

Angelina Jolie has conjured up a couple of pairs of red-soled Christian Louboutin heels for her “Maleficient” press tour, and, boy, are they wickedly whimsical.

Jolie, who plays the villainous queen in Disney’s latest adaptation of the “Sleeping Beauty” tale, stepped out in the custom-made footwear for the film’s premiere in Paris and a photo call in London.

She wore a black pair with a Ralph Lauren outfit in Paris on Tuesday and a white pair, which featured red “blood” dripping down the horned heel, with a bird-printed Atelier Versace frock in London on Friday, according to Just Jared. (Incidentally, her costar Elle Fanning wore custom “Sleeping Beauty” shoes by Charlotte Olympia during the French premiere, the site said.)

The eccentric 5-inch pumps have a pointed toe with window-like vents and feature a swirly, reverse-style heel that brings to mind the sorceress’ evil horns. They were custom made by the French cobbler and also come in red and gold, Us Weekly reported.

“It’s exciting to work with a film that has such a strong aesthetic and a character as great as Maleficent,” Louboutin told the mag. “I’ve been under the charm and spell of Angelina and her character.”

The U.N. goodwill ambassador also spoke out about the kidnapping of nearly 300 schoolgirls in Nigeria by the Islamic militant group Boko Haram, insisting that “this culture of impunity” has to end.

“I think we should be very happy that the countries — now the U.K. and U.S are stepping up and wanting to support Nigeria on the ground and doing what they can to try to rescue the girls,” the 38-year-old told ET Online. It should be noted that last summer, Jolie testified in front of the U.N. Security Council about rape.

“But I think it’s looking at the bigger picture and understanding this epidemic of men thinking that women don’t have the right to have an education and that they feel that they can get away with this kind of behavior, and that it’s fine to just take a woman and to sell a woman or to abuse a woman or rape a woman. We have to end this culture of impunity.”

On Thursday, the well-heeled actress attended a special “Maleficent” costume display benefiting charity at London’s Kensington Palace with fiancé Brad Pitt and their 12-year-old son, Maddox, Jolie’s first child.

The mother of six said that she and Pitt — who last appeared onscreen together in 2005’s “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” where they met — were “thinking about” teaming up again on the big screen, according to the Associated Press.

Several reports out earlier this week indicated that the power couple would soon costar in a mystery penned by the Oscar-winning actress.

“You get together and you’re two individuals and you feel inspired by each other, you challenge each other, you complement each other, drive each other beautifully crazy,” Jolie said in the June 2014 issue of Elle.

“After all these years, we have history — and when you have history with somebody, you’re friends in such a very real, deep way that there’s such a comfort, and an ease, and a deep love that comes from having been through quite a lot together.”

Jolie also said that she’d prefer that her children not go into film, despite her youngest daughter Vivienne’s turn as young Princess Aurora in “Maleficent,” which also includes son Pax and daughter Zahara in bit parts.

“Brad and I made the decision that we wouldn’t keep them from sets and the fun of making movies, but we wouldn’t [glorify it either] — we wouldn’t make it a good thing or a bad thing,” she told the mag. “But I would really prefer they do something else.”

Anyway, “After two days of it, Brad and I were so stressed we never wanted to do it again.”

Jolie has been touring with Fanning, who plays the elder version of the Disney princess in the film. Surprisingly, whenever the 16-year-old joined her costar in front of cameras, Jolie’s face lit up and she held her costar’s hand.

“I’m a very excited person I think, and I laugh a lot, so maybe that’s it,” Fanning told People. When we first met, she gave me this huge hug ... I think we’re huggers. That was how it all started.”

“Maleficent” hits theaters May 30.
