“Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike†will have a profitable summer. Christopher Durang’s comedy starring David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver has recouped its $2.75-million investment after 17 weeks, producers announced Monday.

The production, which runs through Aug. 25, has seen a boost at the box office since its June 9 Tony win for best play.

For the last three weeks, the production has averaged $685,000 a week in ticket sales, or about 89% of its potential gross.
