Center Theatre Group said it made the swap because of a change in the planning of the “Titanic†tour, which no longer will stop in Los Angeles.

“Grey Gardens†is based on the 1975 documentary film by Albert and David Maysles about two eccentric women living in a tumble-down Long Island mansion. The musical received 10 Tony nominations and won in three categories after it first premiered on Broadway in 2006.

“This is a classic piece of Americana that intrigues with a touching story of riches to rags that is both hilarious and heartbreaking. It is a pleasure to bring the legendary Betty Buckley and to welcome back Rachel York (‘Anything Goes’) to Los Angeles in this lauded Bay Street Theater production,†Michael Ritchie, Center Theatre Group’s artistic director, said in the announcement.

The show will be the fifth and final production in the Ahmanson’s 2015-16 season. Season ticket holders with seats for “Titanic†will be reissued new tickets for “Grey Gardens.â€
