The Beatles are Broadway bound in ‘Let it Be’

The Beatles are Broadway bound once again. Producers announced Wednesday that “Let it Be†will transfer from London’s West End for a limited summer run in New York.

The show follows the British band’s rise from Liverpool’s Cavern Club through the peak of Beatlemania and beyond, with 40 of The Beatles’ greatest hits along the way, including “Twist and Shout,†“She Loves You,†“Hey Jude,†“Come Together†and, yes, “Let It Be.â€

Featuring projection technology and 3-D sound, “Let it Be†starts previews July 16 at St. James Theatre, with opening night slated for July 24. The engagement is scheduled to run through Dec. 29.

Nearby, another group of blokes also play the Fab Four in “Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles on Broadway,†which debuted on Broadway in 2011 and is currently running at Brooks Atkinson Theatre.

“Let it Be,†which opened in 2012 to mark the band’s 50th anniversary, will continue its London run at the Savoy Theatre.

On the West Coast, another on-stage Beatles tribute, “Experience The Beatles With Rain,†is running through May 12 at Hollywood’s Pantages Theatre.
