Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen is ready to beat it out of Calabasas
An offbeat contemporary in Calabasas owned by Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen is for sale at $1.888 million.
Resembling a mountain retreat with its vaulted wood ceilings and river stone fireplace, the 2,166-square-foot house takes in views of the surrounding hillsides and scenery from all sides. Matures trees, a Zen-inspired rock garden and a swimming pool with a spa share the nearly half-acre site.
Even with extensive windows, the great room at the heart of the 1982 house feels warm and inviting with its wooden expanses and built-ins. Open shelving in the kitchen, which has dual sinks and quartz counters, adds a relaxed vibe.

Vaulted ceilings continue in the master suite for a total of three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master opens to a balcony, and decking surrounds much of the house.
Allen, 52, has played with the heavy-metal band since he was 15. He lost an arm in 1984, but resumed playing two years later using a specially designed drum kit. Among the band’s biggest hits are “Photograph,†“Bringin’ on the Heartache†and “Hysteria.†The group has sold more than 100 million albums.
The Thunder God, as his fans call Allen, bought the property in 2007 for $1.66 million.
