Home once owned by renowned fashion designer Bob Mackie is for sale #TBT
The name Bob Mackie brings to mind Cher wearing a big headdress and gown in my mind’s eye. A home the renowned fashion and costume designer to the stars once owned is now on the market in Hollywood Hills at $2.599 million.
The contemporary Mediterranean sold for $1.925 million two years ago. Mackie bought the property in 1997 for $755,000 and sold in 2005 for $1.821 million. Before that the home changed hands in 1993 for $480,499.
Built in 1990, the contemporary Mediterranean house has such features as vaulted beam ceilings, skylights, interior arches and 24-foot-tall ceilings. Vibrant-colored handmade tile from Morocco, Turkey and Mexico is used throughout the house.
The three-story home contains 3,952 square feet of space including family and dining rooms, an upgraded kitchen with a wine cooler, four bedrooms, two full bathrooms and a powder room. There are fireplaces in the living and family rooms and the master bedroom.
An adjacent lot with a flat spot for a swimming pool or guesthouse completes the one-third acre of grounds.
Mackie, 75, dressed such stars as Carol Burnett, Diana Ross and Joan Rivers. He recently launched the Bob Mackie Home Vintage rug collection.
Roxane Eskan of Rodeo Realty is the listing agent.
