A recently completed French chateau-style mansion has come on the market in Beverly Hills at $72 million.
The palatial home and a three-bedroom guesthouse sit on 1.5 acres behind a gated entry with a guardhouse. The front grounds are made up of an expansive lawn and a motor court with a central fountain and parking for 40 to 60 cars.
Second-story Juliet balconies flank the two-story entry while oval-shaped dormer windows line the roof and bring light into the third story. A gigantic oval skylight tops the foyer, which has dual staircases with ornate handrails.
The 28,000 square feet of living space includes a grand ballroom for parties of 200 to 300 guests, a 1,000-bottle wine tasting room and cellar, an elevator, 11 fireplaces and a fitness center. A dome-topped living room, a formal dining room, a library, a 1,400-square-foot commercial kitchen with six ovens, 11 bedrooms and 17.5 bathrooms are among the interior spaces.
The indoor swimming pool features a spa with ceiling jets. There’s a steam room and a sauna.
Terraces and verandas extend the living and entertaining space outdoors. The garage can accommodate 14 to 16 vehicles.
Jeffrey Hyland, Zach Goldsmith and Rita Goldsmith of Hilton & Hyland, an affiliate of Christie’s International Realty, and Joyce Rey and Jade Mills of Coldwell Banker have the listing.
