Former San Francisco Giants slugger Aubrey Huff looks to sell in San Diego

Former San Francisco Giants slugger Aubrey Huff, who is aiming for a return to the diamond after a four-year absence, has put his home field in San Diego on the market for $4,094,000.

Set on about an acre in a gated community in the Rancho Pacifica neighborhood, near the home of former Padres star Brian Giles, the Mediterranean-style home has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a sprawling 8,114 square feet on a single story.

Arched glass doors open to a formal entry with a pair of stone pillars that frame the vaulted living room area. Family and dining rooms, a wood-paneled office and a den are among the common areas. The kitchen features a marble-topped island, a walk-in pantry and a coffee bar.

Occupying an entire wing, the master suite has exercise and sitting rooms, a soaking tub and a pair of walk-in closets. There are four stone fireplaces, including one in the master bedroom.

Sliding glass doors open to an outdoor living room with another fireplace. An in-ground trampoline, a basketball court and a resort-style swimming pool with a beach entry fill the palm-topped grounds.

Huff bought the house three years ago for $3.7 million, public records show.

Huff, 39, won a pair of World Series titles while with the Giants from 2010-2012. A corner infielder and outfielder, he also played for the Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles, among others, across 13 seasons.

In November, he announced plans for a comeback despite not having played since the 2012 season.
