Column: Limeliter Alex Hassilev lists WeHo home with recording history
Alex Hassilev of the Limeliters has listed his West Hollywood home, with its oft-used recording studio, at $2.249 million.
Among notables who have worked and recorded at the home during the 45 years Hassilev has owned it are Carole King, Doris Day and Candice Bergen. The early in-home recording studio was built in 1976.
The living, dining and family rooms surround an updated kitchen in the main house, which contains the recording studio. There’s also a detached guesthouse, fruit trees and a backyard fountain. The more than 3,300 square feet of living space includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Hassilev, 81, is a founding member of the band, which was formed in 1959 and released more than 25 albums. Among their popular songs were “Wabash Cannonball,†“Have Some Madeira M’Dear†and “A Dollar Down.†The musician, songwriter and record producer retired from the Limeliters in 2006.
Chris Jacobs and Julie Kryukova of Keller Williams are the listing agents.
