Tuesday is the most productive day of the workweek
It’s Tuesday, so you’re probably going to very productive at work today.
Nearly 4 in 10 human-resource managers say employees’ most productive day of the week is Tuesday, far more than any other day, according to a survey by Accountemps, the temporary-staffing firm.
The only other day that came close was Monday, which came in at 24%.
Perhaps not surprising, Thursdays and Fridays are viewed as the least productive, according to the survey. A mere 3% of HR people say those are their workers’ best days.
Superior performance on Tuesdays is nothing new. The day has held the top spot in surveys for more than 25 years, according to Accountemps.
Why Tuesday?

“Many workers spend Monday catching up from the previous week and planning the one ahead,†said Max Messmer, chairman of Accountemps. “On Tuesday, employees may begin to have time to focus on individual tasks and become more productive. The goal should be to maintain the positive momentum established on Tuesday throughout the week.â€
Employees are far more productive in the morning than the afternoon. In fact, the most productive period of the week is Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon.
So, please, get back to work now.
