Rocket Lab signs an agreement to launch Earth-imaging satellites
The launch manifest for Los Angeles-based Rocket Lab is starting to fill up. The small-satellite launch company said Tuesday that it has signed an agreement with Earth-imaging satellite firm Planet for three dedicated launches on its Electron rocket.
The launches are scheduled to begin in 2017, though the Electron has not yet had its first flight.
Rocket Lab has already won launch contracts from NASA, satellite data company Spire and moon mining start-up Moon Express.
