Geoff Dyer is an idiosyncratic literary observer, a Brit who regularly writes for the London Review of Books. He seems a rather unlikely candidate to climb aboard the USS George H.W. Bush, an American aircraft carrier.
That’s exactly what he did, however, to write his latest book “Another Great Day at Sea.”
The book is out this week from Pantheon. During the L.A. Times Festival of Books in April, Dyer gave us a preview of it. He explains his affection for naval history, the reasons for embarking on his trip and more in this video.
