A self-propelled recreation junkie and fan of all things outdoors, I have roamed Out There on a bike, skis, snowshoes, or in hiking boots from the forests and lakes of the upper Midwest to Colorado’s high country and mountains of southern California, detailing those trips with groups like the Nature Valley Grand Prix promotional team, various active sports media guides, and where-to books and articles. I also spent four years as a wrench and sales associate at bike shops in the Mpls-St Paul area. My home base is…..wherever I happen to be. Currently jetsetting between southern MN and southern CA, I live the lifestyle with verve and and write about it from where my heart is, in places like Wisconsin’s woods, Colorado’s mountains, and SoCal. My outlets are active, and I am either on a hiking trail wearing a backpack, or on my bicycle wearing Lycra. If I have a spare hour or five, I am outdoors and in tune with nature's finest.
