This is the regular-season finale for both teams. Neither was expected to make the playoffs, but both qualified. Both have slipped lately too. The Kings have played four consecutive shootouts, losing three. They can still finish fifth in the Western Conference but need help. Colorado’s Matt Duchene, a contender for rookie of the year, was hospitalized Friday night for treatment of a torso injury, making it doubtful that he will play against the Kings.
