DENVER — Ian Stewart hit a tiebreaking home run in the eighth inning, lifting the Colorado Rockies over Cincinnati, 4-3, Monday afternoon and ending the Reds’ winning streak at seven games.
The National League wild card-leading Rockies won their fourth in a row despite losing Troy Tulowitzki. The shortstop left in the seventh inning after a run-scoring single because of a strained lower back and was listed as day to day.
Rafael Betancourt (2-1) pitched a perfect eighth inning and Franklin Morales, filling in for the injured Huston Street, pitched out of a jam to pick up his fourth save in five chances.
