Manny Ramirez is hitting .255 since returning from his suspension. He’s an average runner and can’t field very well. Juan Pierre is hitting .311 for the year. He has stolen 24 bases in limited playing time and covers a lot of ground in the outfield with his speed.
So who would a capable manager be starting in the playoffs?
Torre goes with current form and rides the hot horse when it comes to pitching (Wolf, Kershaw) and position players (Belliard). Why not with Manny? The truth is, he’s afraid to tell his bosses that they goofed yet again.

Hey Joe Torre, keep juggling the batting order and maybe something will happen. And then, maybe not.

Please don’t tell me that the Dodgers rolled over Monday so that Vinny could announce their division-clinching game on Tuesday. My son would like to know if there is any other way to explain how Andy LaRoche was able to outhit the entire Dodgers team.
On Monday nobody associated with the Dodgers brought their “A†game unless the “A†stands for “Asleep.â€

As a Pirates fan since 1960, I wanted to express my disappointment over the negative comments about the team’s current state of affairs ranging from “lowly†to Joe Torre’s comment about the Bad News Bears. There is little to be gained from negativity. Does Google write articles about the lowly Tribune Co.?
