Re “An elegy for summertime,” Column One, Nov. 9

I loved The Times’ article on Huntington Lake.

I have had many such experiences at our cabins in northern New England. The bittersweet knowledge of the ending of a radiant summer and the onset of a colder, drearier but often starkly beautiful, quiet and serene fall. And then the long, silent, lonely, unobserved winter.

It was a lovely piece of writing. Thanks.
