QUICK TAKES - Nov. 3, 2009
“Southland,” the gritty cop drama that was unceremoniously canceled by NBC before its second season premiere, has been picked up by cable network TNT.
TNT said Monday that, beginning Jan. 12, it will air the first seven episodes of the series that aired earlier this year on NBC, followed by the six Season 2 episodes that were completed before NBC decided not to bring the show back after all.
Whether TNT will continue to produce new episodes beyond those that already exist will depend on how the show performs in the ratings.
