Big Ten: Penn State rolls Northwestern in second half

No. 12 Penn State 34, at Northwestern 13: Evan Royster rushed for 118 yards, including a 69-yard touchdown during a fourth-quarter surge, and the Nittany Lions outscored the Wildcats 24-0 in the second half. Daryll Clark threw a 53-yard touchdown pass to Derek Moye before Royster broke loose for the third of three Penn State touchdowns during a span of 3:40 of the fourth quarter.
at No. 17 Ohio State 45, New Mexico State 0: Dane Sanzenbacher caught two touchdown passes, and Terrelle Pryor threw for one and ran for another to lead the Buckeyes over the Aggies (3-6), holding New Mexico State to 62 yards in total offense.
at Wisconsin 37, Purdue 0: John Clay ran for 123 yards and three touchdowns, and the Badgers shut out a conference opponent for the first time since 1999 to end a two-game losing streak. It was Purdue’s worst shutout since a 48-0 loss to Notre Dame in 1992.
at Illinois 38, Michigan 13: Juice Williams rushed 21 times for 97 yards and a touchdown, and the Fighting Illini scored three touchdowns sandwiched around two three-and-outs by the Wolverines to take control in the third quarter.
at Minnesota 42, Michigan State 34: Adam Weber passed for 416 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Golden Gophers overcome a school-record 17 penalties and hang on to beat the Spartans.
