One of Italy’s most wanted mafia bosses was arrested near Naples, police said.
Salvatore Russo, 51, regarded as one of the 30 most wanted and dangerous mafia fugitives, had been on the run since 1995.
A leading boss of the Camorra organized crime syndicate, which operates in and around Naples, Russo had been convicted and sentenced to life in prison for murder and criminal association.
“This is a very heavy blow for the Camorra. We are closing the net on the super-fugitives,” said Interior Minister Roberto Maroni.
