On its own, this deal is sort of a curiosity. But a new camcorder offer by several Rosewood resorts may signal a more technologically friendly mood in the hotel industry. Would you like those images to go, sir? Of course.

The deal: Check in at certain Rosewood resorts and the concierge will provide you with Flip UltraHD camcorders and easy-to-use tips for the best results. When you’re done, turn in the camcorder, and hotel staff will download the videos onto YouTube or a DVD that you can take home. The easy-to-use digital camcorders are available at Rosewood Sand Hill (Menlo Park, Calif.), Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi (Santa Fe, N.M.); Rosewood Mayakoba (Playa del Carmen, Mexico); and Little Dix Bay in the British Virgin Islands and Caneel Bay on St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
