Indians end Red Sox’s home winning streak

Cleveland 9, at Boston 2: Carl Pavano pitched his third strong game in three weeks, Victor Martinez homered and drove in four runs and the Indians ended the Red Sox’s nine-game home winning streak. The right-hander gave up two runs in six innings and lowered his earned-run average to 6.61. It was 16.71 after his first two starts.
at Baltimore 4, Minnesota 1 (six innings, rain): Nick Markakis and Luke Scott homered, and the Orioles won a rain-shortened game that was marred by four delays totaling 3 hours 46 minutes.
Texas 3, at Oakland 2: Elvis Andrus homered, Scott Feldman pitched six strong innings and the Rangers won their fifth straight.
at Kansas City 9, Seattle 1: Mark Teahen had four hits and drove in three runs, and Sidney Ponson made a strong case to stay in the rotation with 7 1/3 solid innings.
Detroit at Chicago, rain: A makeup date wasn’t announced.
Toronto 13, at Angels 1: The Blue Jays led 7-0 after two innings.
