A magnitude 4.4 earthquake hit the area at 6:11 p.m. Friday, shaking a large swath of the region. Authorities said only one minor injury was reported.
The quake, centered in the hills seven miles from both Malibu and Westlake Village, could be felt in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County.
The injury involved an elderly woman who was scared by the quake, ran from her apartment and fell, authorities said.
