CALIFORNIA BRIEFING / SANTA ANA
Four Orange County men have been charged with gang raping an intoxicated 13-year-old girl at a house party.
Diego Ramirez, 19; Mario Santibanez, 22; Daniel Ramirez, 23; and Gustavo Gomez, 18, were all charged with multiple felonies in the assault.
If convicted, each would face a maximum of 35 years in prison.
The four appeared Friday in Orange County Superior Court. Each is being held in lieu of $200,000 bail.
Prosecutors allege that Gomez and Santibanez met the girl and her 14-year-old friend after school Feb. 27.
The group began drinking and were intoxicated when they arrived at the Orange home of cousins Diego and Daniel Ramirez.
The four men are accused of repeatedly assaulting the 13-year-old after more drinking. Gomez is also accused of having unlawful sex with the 14-year-old girl.
