Boston Scientific has warned doctors that a small number of patients implanted with its heart-regulating defibrillators have suffered unnecessary shocks.

The medical device company said 15 patients had received inappropriate electrical jolts from either Cognis or Teligen defibrillators used to treat irregular heartbeats.
