A Texas Southern University spokeswoman says six people were wounded at a community rally on the campus in Houston in what police believe was a gang-related drive-by shooting.
A TSU spokeswoman said one male student was among the injured at the event, where a popular rapper was promoting voter registration.
Witnesses told police that a car drove by the event and passengers opened fire, Pickens said. The victims were being treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, she said.
