State police in riot gear broke up a standoff between black and white extremists who exchanged screams of “Black power!” and “White power!” during a protest in Paris over the handling of the dragging death of a black man.
Two white protesters were arrested.
The controversy involves the death of Brandon McClelland, 24, whose mangled body was found on a country road Sept. 16.
A special prosecutor dismissed charges against two of McClelland’s white friends last month after a truck driver said that he might have accidentally run over McClelland.
