Some L.A. County Supervisors want the county to withdraw investments from companies that do business with Iran.
Supervisors Mike Antonovich and Zev Yaroslavsky said Tuesday that they want the county’s pension program to divest from companies doing business with Iran. They plan to ask the board Tuesday to endorse their proposal.
“Iran has been identified by the State Department as the chief state sponsor of international terrorism and continues to move forward with its nuclear program in defiance of its nonproliferation obligations,” Antonovich said in a statement released Tuesday.
