THE HALF-PRICE THEATER TICKETS DEAL
Visitors to London have long known about the discounted or half-price theater tickets available at TKTS booths on the day of the show. Now you can buy half-price and discounted tickets up to seven days in advance.
The deal: Busy Leicester Square is the hub of London’s theater scene. At the ticket booth on the south side of the square, you can pick up tickets from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and noon to 3 p.m. Sundays. Recent performances of “Billy Elliot” were discounted to $62; tickets to “Stomp,” $41. The $5 booking fee is included in the advertised price. There is no booking fee for full-price seats. The Society of London Theatre, a trade association representing producers and theater owners, runs the sales. You’ll find a second TKTS booth in Brent Cross Shopping Centre in northwest London.
