Tampa Bay wins in 11th on Pat Burrell’s home run

at Tampa Bay 3, Toronto 1 (11): Pat Burrell hit a two-run home run in the 11th inning off Brandon League to help the Rays end a losing streak at four games. Burrell had four hits in his previous 34 at-bats before hitting his fourth homer.
at Boston 5, Oakland 2: Josh Beckett became the second 10-game winner for the Red Sox and fellow All-Star Jason Bay hit his 20th home run. Beckett (10-3) remained unbeaten at home this season with five wins in eight starts.
at Detroit 8, Kansas City 5: Marcus Thames hit a three-run home run and Justin Verlander (9-4) struck out 11 for the Tigers. Miguel Cabrera and Placido Polanco also homered for Detroit.
New York 10, at Minnesota 2: CC Sabathia gave up one run and three hits in seven innings and the Yankees roughed up Twins starter Scott Baker.
Baltimore 12, at Seattle 4: Luke Scott had a career-high seven runs batted in for the Orioles. One of Scott’s three hits was a two-run homer in a six-run seventh.
Texas 8, at Angels 5: The Rangers scored six runs in the fifth inning.
