WEDNESDAY’S RESULT
Reseda 90, Sylmar 85
Leading contributors: Randall Harris scored 20 points for Reseda and made 11 of 15 free throws in the fourth quarter. Andre Fowler had 22 points and Ryan Watkins 19 points for Reseda (15-6, 5-0 Valley Mission League). UCLA-bound Tyler Honeycutt led Sylmar (13-7, 4-1) with a career-high 40 points.
The scoop: Reseda’s full-court trapping defense produced a 17-point second-quarter lead. The Regents led by 16 points with 5 1/2 minutes left, but Honeycutt helped ignite a comeback that fell short.
Why it matters: Reseda took over sole possession of first place in the Valley Mission League and helped state its case for a possible No. 1 seeding for the City Section Division II playoffs.

GAME OF THE DAY
No. 7 Corona Centennial (19-2, 8-1)
at No. 6 Riverside King (16-2, 8-1)
Tonight at 6:15.
Why it matters: It’s rematch time in the Big VIII League, with first place on the line. In the first meeting on Jan. 6, Centennial prevailed over King on its home court, 73-71. King turned in a lackluster performance on defense. But Centennial was upset by Corona Roosevelt on Tuesday night, so the Huskies are feeling a little pressure because they would fall out of first place with a loss. Centennial has three impressive sophomore starters in Gelaun Wheelwright, Dominique Dunning and Michael Coffey. King has 6-foot-7 Kawhi Leonard, a San Diego State signee.
