Authorities in Saudi Arabia have beheaded two Sri Lankans convicted of robbing and killing a Sudanese man.
An Interior Ministry statement said the two approached accountant Mohmed Abdul Rahman as he left his office in Riyadh, the capital. and walked him to his car. There they shot him and stole his money.
Under the kingdom’s strict laws, people convicted of murder, drug trafficking, rape and armed robbery can be executed with a sword.
According to an Associated Press count, 92 people were beheaded in 2008. The number was 137 in 2007 and 38 the year before.
