Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials Friday identified the man suspected of kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old girl as Jonathan Allen Gamond, 32.
The victim was with another girl of the same age on the night of Jan. 23 in the 12000 block of Gradwell Street in Lakewood when Gamond got out of a sport utility vehicle and told them he was a police officer, sheriff’s deputies said.
Gamond knocked one of the girls down and forced the other into his car, then drove away, Sheriff’s Lt. Al Garcia said. Garcia said Gamond raped the girl and dropped her off.
Gamond is being held on $5-million bail.
