Bentley leads police on slow-speed chase in L.A.
The driver of a Bentley led police on a slow-speed chase lasting more than three hours Monday night after fleeing the scene of a reported domestic dispute involving a deadly weapon, a Los Angeles Police Department spokeswoman said.
The Illinois-registered white sedan, worth more than $100,000, traversed the city’s busiest freeways after leaving the North Hollywood confrontation, drawing a phalanx of police cruisers along the Hollywood Freeway and Interstates 5, 10 and 405, said Los Angeles police Officer Karen Smith.
It was at least the fifth police pursuit of a fleeing driver in Los Angeles in the last two weeks.
The Bentley’s driver was believed to be armed, Smith said, so police were “very, very careful†in approach to the pursuit, which began at 7:55 p.m. and ended at 11:15 p.m. when the driver stopped on Lankershim Boulevard, near where he started.
