GAME OF THE DAY
No. 4 Los Angeles Fairfax (19-3, 8-1) at
No. 2 Westchester (22-1, 9-0).
Tonight at 7
Why it matters: The No. 1 seeding for the City Section Division I playoffs could be decided if Westchester is able to complete a sweep of the Lions after winning the first meeting, 78-73, on Jan. 16. Fairfax has been surrendering a lot of points lately, and the Comets’ guards, led by Jordin Mayes and Dominique O’Connor, will try to exploit any weaknesses. Center Renardo Sidney has been on a scoring tear for Fairfax.
Also: Crenshaw (15-3, 7-1 Coliseum League) will play at Fremont (14-7, 7-2) at 4 p.m. in a rematch of the game that was halted last month at Crenshaw after a brawl erupted in the fourth quarter involving players and fans. Extra security personnel are expected to be in place.
