Thank you for the great news that Kris Kristofferson is back in the recording studio. [“Kris Kristofferson: A Semi-Tough Veteran Gets Back in the Game,” April 19]. Nothing can bring a smile to my face or tear to my eye faster than one of his brilliant lyrics.
For decades his music has been the backdrop of my life. Years before iPods or cassettes, a caring boyfriend even brought a guitar and Kris songbook to Ethiopia so I could be entertained as we rafted down a remote river.
Kris Kristofferson is a national treasure and the beauty of his work will resonate through future generations whether his poetry is expressing pure joy or unbearable heartbreak.
